Our emblem is a white and green shield with gilt edges.
The ICSE stream of the school runs by the congregation of the Carmelite Religious (CCR), and introduced in the academic year 2007, is named after St, Teresa of Avila.
The selection of the name of the ICSE School, and its logo and motto, are both felicitous and coincidental. In the year 2010 the Teresian Carmelite family all over the world, called for a five year spiritual renewal in preparation for the celebration of the forthcoming 5th birth centenary in the year2015, of this illustrious doctor of the theology.
To read beyond what merely strikes the physical eye, is an invitation to focus on the graphic imagery and the specific, spiritual significance of the crest, which enjoys pride of place in the school Diary cum Calendar.
Ignited by a spark of divine, intuitive love, the inward eye is drawn at a the outset to the four shimmering stars which adorn the glistening white canopy of the boundless expanse of the heavenly skies.
These four star flowers representing the Four- House system, its patrons and the wayfarers on life s journey, forcefully generate the feeling that all are called to goodness of life, unselfish love and fruitful collaborative service.
The open book and the shadowy figure in the background, of our patron saint, a truly enigmatic writer, a quill pen in her gloved hand, is an of practical help. It is an invitation to read on and imbibe her perennial, spiritual wisdom. Down the arches of years oh tis not Spanish but tis heaven she speaks. The whole focus has shifted to and highlights the reality of God s abiding presence in the little heaven of soul, to use a Teresian expression.
As we explore the logo further, St. Teresa of Avila figures again in the refreshing flash of green.
For this ardent lover, Nature was an undeniable gift of God s magnanimous love and generosity.
It symbolizes too, fertility of mind, body and soul and the fruits the seeds of love, service, fraternity, loyalty and erudition yield.
Finally the Carmelite colours , brown and golden yellow are enshrined in the sheen of the banner like elegant scroll.
Although they spring from different sources, image after image dovetails and overlaps, superbly capturing the fecundity of the Crest and Motto of St. Teresa of Avila School, Neyyatinkara, Trivandrum.
